Focus: A Wonderful Life (Pt.1)
Text: Gal.2:20
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
God wants His people to live a graceful and wonderful life - not a general, common, or ordinary life. The psalmist acknowledges, "I will praise thee; for I am FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well" (Ps.139:14).
In making us God shows how wonderful He is. In our making we see God's signature. We are masterfully configured and beautifully sculpted. Isaiah says, "Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion" (Isa.8:18).
We are created for dignity and nobility. Our life is designed to showcase how terrific and wonderful our creator is.
Let's look at the dimensions of this wonderful life. God requires of us:
*Separated life
A wonderful life is a separated life. God takes us from one horizon to another in order to fulfill His purpose. In Rom.1:1, we read, "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, SEPARATED unto the gospel of God." We are called to be something and separated to something. The word 'separated' is 'aphorizo' in the Greek. It is a compound word literally meaning 'off-horizon-ed' - something or someone removed from one horizon to another.
We are separated to the gospel of Christ. We are the people of the good news of God. We live the good life and spread the good news of Christ.
Average life is not for you. Mediocre life is not for you. Low life is not for you. Little life is not for you. Ordinary life is not for you. Confused life is not for you. Crowded life is not for you. Uneventful life is not for you.
You are separated by God to lead a meaningful life. You are singled out by God to live a special life. Stop living a generalized life and start living a super normal life! Live a wonderful life! Do not live life as you see it, nor as you deem fit, but live it as it ought to be!
