Focus: Blessing After Death!
Text: Gen.25:11
"And it came to pass after the DEATH of Abraham, that God BLESSED his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi."
After the demise of Abraham God blessed Isaac. That is blessing after death. Abraham the father died for Isaac the son to receive divine blessings, and with the blessings he kept intact the family destiny and legacy alive. Moses died, and God told Joshua to take over and lead Israel to the promise land. After king Uzziah died, Isaiah saw the Lord sitting on His throne and His glory filled the temple. God's throne is never vacant by reason of death or overthrow.
Understand that before Isaac received God's blessing, we read of Abraham giving "all that he had unto Isaac" (Gen.25:5).
Also, before the Lord released the blessing upon Isaac, we read that "Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death" (Gen.24:67). Isaac's wife Rebekah arrived after the death of Sarah his mother. He was comforted by the arrival of his wife. Can you see the picture? Sarah dies, and Isaac gets married. Abraham dies, and Isaac gets blessed by God.
The church, which is the body of Christ, came into existence after the death of Jesus Christ, who is the head of the church. The blessings of the church came after the Father sent His Son to die for us on the cross of Calvary and raised Him from the dead. Paul writes, "And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them all" (24:50). The Lord was blessing His people as He was returning to His Father. He was still blessing them while going up. He didn't finish blessing them before the clouds took Him out of sight and out of a hearing distance. But Paul helps us know that we are blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in Christ in the heavenly places. It's a heap of blessing that we have in Christ - incalculable, unquantifiable and inexhaustible blessings. All these blessings came after the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I pray for you to begin to appropriate your boundless blessings in Christ. All you need is all in the blessings. Experience and enjoy your inheritance in Christ Jesus. Amen!
