Focus: Born to Win

Text: 1Jh.5:4,5

"For whatever is BORN OF GOD overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even OUR FAITH…"

Are you born of God? Do you possess God's seed in you? The divine DNA in the believer makes him superior to circumstances and places him on top of the world. According to the Apostle Peter, he is "a partaker of the divine nature."

Spiritual rebirth is the secret of victory over the world. You can't win the battle against the world with the world itself being at home inside you. It is with heaven in the believer that he overcomes the world outside him.

Those born of God are absolutely destined for victory and their faith in God is the decider.

If you are a born again Christian, your victory is absolutely assured. The divine nature in you decides and determines your victory.

You are born to win. Your faith is your ammunition. It shields you against all attacks from the pit of hell. The world is your enemy. The world's system is organized evil with Satan at the helm of it. The system of the world is diametrically and diabolically opposed to God and His ways of doing things. John lays it bare that all that is in the world is the lust of the eyes - appearances, the lust of the flesh - appetite, and the pride of life - arrogance.

You see that: Appearance - Appetites - Arrogance! That is all and nothing else. To put it yet another way, the world system is defined by Sight, Stomach, and Stuff. Amazingly, the believer's life is not governed by sight, stomach and stuff. He is born from above and lives above this world system. He walks by faith, not by sight. His belly is not his god. He doesn't boast about things, only about his God.

Child of God, you are born to win. In Christ you are invincible. Indeed you are a winner even when it doesn't look like it. Amen.
