Focus: Complications
Text: Mt.12:22"Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw."
Something is radically wrong with our world. In this text we find Jesus dealing with a man whose case is complicated. He is blind and dumb, and also possessed of a demon. What a life! What a mess! What a terrible situation for anyone to be in! Just imagine a man who can neither see nor speak, and on top of that, a man whose entire personality is being controlled by a demon! Life is riddled with complications and contradictions. One man says, 'My life is complicated.' Another man is saying, 'You won't understand. It's complicated.' Complications at birth. Medical complications. Old age complications. Academic complications. Psychological complications. Spiritual complications. Neurological complications. Surgical complications. Just name it. The list goes on.
Then the Lord Jesus comes into his life and sets him free miraculously. The man can now see and speak, and the demon is cast out permanently. Hallelujah!
But the Pharisees are unhappy about it. Unhappy that someone in such a bad shape has got back his life and has regained his freedom. Unhappy that Jesus Christ has done what they themselves are unable to do. Unhappy that their own brand of religion is losing attraction before the people. And on top of being unhappy, the Pharisees lied to themselves and to others about Jesus operating with an evil power, which is a case of Satan casting out Satan. What a bad theology! They are trying to explain away and rubbish the miracle, seeing it is too real for anyone to publicly deny it.
Why do people speak ill of what they know nothing about? Why cook up stories and make up lies just to hide the obvious fact?
Let us always bear in mind that Christianity is a religion of supernatural power. Christ is the power and wisdom of God. Christ is still real today. The power of the Holy Spirit is still working today.
We need the power of God in our lives today. It makes no sense, trying to avoid what we are void of. And it still makes no sense for us to be looking for substitutes to fill that void.
We are void of power, and the bad thing about it, is that we are trying to fill the void with substitutes, whereas all we need is to humble ourselves, own up to our failures, and cry out to God for pardon and power.
Satan is behind certain situations you are going through and certain problems in your life. It is time to cast him out and regain your freedom.
Let me say this to you prophetically, God is going to give you an outstanding miracle, a miracle that will, most likely, attract the envy and jealousy of some folks. Someone is going to be unhappy of where God is taking you to.
Also, God is going to give you an undeniable miracle, a miracle so visible that no one will be able to explain it away.
It is time for you to be set free and recover your sanity, sanctity and dignity. It is time for you to see and speak, and Satan kicked out of your life and home.
Receive God's undeniable, unexplainable and unfathomable miracles. Amen.
