Text: Isa.41:14

"Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I WILL HELP THEE, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

In this new year you will certainly be needing God's help, and God is saying to you now, 'I will help you.' You will surmount impossible situations with the help of God. You will achieve mighty things with the help of God. You will go places and reach new heights with the help of God. You will do the will of God and obediently follow in His path with the help of God. With the help of God you will demolish strongholds and level mountains. With the help of God you will be on top of impossible cases, not under them.

The Scripture tells of things that Uzziah, Judah's king, accomplished in his time. Among other things Uzziah did in building a strong military, we read that he "prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones. And he MADE in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad…" What is interesting is that the Scripture records that Uzziah accomplished all of this because "he was marvellously helped, till he was strong" (2Chron.26:14-15).

God will not only help you; He will marvelously do so. He will send you help from unexpected quarters. He will put His hand on you to help you. He will provide for you miraculously. He will fight for you supernaturally.

In the blessing Joseph, Jacob says to him, "Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb" (Gen.49:25).

In the story of Adam you can learn how God helps His own people. God says to Adam, "I will make him an help meet for him" (Gen.2:18). God will help you through people. He makes and provides helpers. He brings into your life helpers. Out of you He raises helpers. Amasai said to David, "Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee" (1Chron.12:18). When God decides to help you, He does so by providing helpers. Paul calls Priscilla and Aquila "my helpers in Christ Jesus," and he says to the church in Corinth, we "are helpers of your joy" (Rom.16:3; 2Cor.1:24).

One thing God did to help Adam see his need for help was asking him to name the animals, and he discovered that they existed in pairs, but he himself was single, and Moses says, "But for Adam there was not found an help meet for him" (Gen.2:20). Adam sees his need of a qualified helper. The animals are not in his class and cannot give him the kind of social, physical, emotional and spiritual help or support that is adequate and suitable. One lesson to learn from here is that if you look for help in the wrong places you will not find it

Adam needed another like him to help him - a being of the same structure, substance, essence and significance - a person you can look at and see a reflection of yourself - bone of bones and flesh of flesh - a counterpart, your resemblance.

Your helper serves as the mirror by which you can see yourself. God will always provide the kind of help you need.

In mentioning the name of his second son to his father In-law, Moses said, "And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh" (Ex.18:4). By helping Moses, God delivered him from the sword of Pharaoh. As Moses blesses Judah, he adds a prayer to it: "And be thou an help to him from his enemies" (Dt.33:7). Divine help involves God delivering you from the sword and saving you from your enemies.

You are in the season where you need daily help from God. In his war against Ziklag, men from the tribe of Manasseh rallied round him to help him. It is written, "For at that time DAY BY DAY there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God" (1Chron.12:22). Hallelujah!

In this new season of your life, you will have the host of God for a helper. The hosts of heaven will fight for you. In one of his numerous songs, David said, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps.46:1). Singing of Zion, he says, "God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early" (Ps.46:5).

I declare that you shall experience early help from God, and I want you to know that your God sits on the throne from which help comes.

The Scripture says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Heb.4:16). Paul says, "Having therefore obtained help of God…" (Act.26:22). From God's throne you can obtain God's help, and always bear in mind that you are helped by God to help others. In one of Paul's visions, he hears a voice saying to him, "Come over into Macedonia, and help us" (Act.16:9). Someone is in need of your help. Learn to step out of your comfort zone to help others in need! God wants to help someone through you. Let God use you to deliver divine help!
