Focus: Divine Yardsticks

Three scriptures stand out.

1. The Glory

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or WHATSOEVER YE DO, DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD" - 1Cor.10:31.

The glory of God should be the goal of all one's actions or activities. All for his glory.

2. The Name

"And WHATSOEVER ye do in word or deed, do all in the NAME of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him" - Col.3:17.

The name of the Lord Jesus should be the basis, the stamp or the signature of one's words and works. All in his name and for his name. I am bound by and committed to the name of Christ in all I do or say.

3. The Heart

"And WHATSOEVER ye do, do it HEARTILY, as to the Lord, and not unto men" - Col.3:23.

The heart should be at the center of all we do, always mindful of God. Love from the heart. Worship from the heart. Do good from the heart. Anything and everything should flow from the heart. Do it with your very soul. Pump life into what you do. Exert energy. Do it with zest. Amen.
