Focus: Don't Say That!

Text: 1 Sam.27:1.

"And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul."

Probe what your heart is saying to you. Is it right? Is it true? Is it God? Is your heart speaking by faith or by fear?

Saul plotted and made so much effort to kill David. He tracked, traced and chased him everywhere. David dodged and survived every evil attempt Saul made on his life. But at this time David felt low and down in spirit. He was gripped with sudden fear, and said, I will one day die by the hand of Saul. He felt trapped and tired, and totally out of options.

But all David needed to do to regain inner strength and brace up was ask himself: In all of Saul's many attempts on his life, did Saul succeed for once? And the answer is a capital NO. Saul did not. David survived all of Saul's evil machinations. And it was because of the oil of God upon his head. That was the secret.

The same goes for you. God will not allow the oil on your head to waste. God did not anoint David for Saul to kill him. He was anointed to be king over God's people, and no Saul would be allowed to scuttle God's agenda. God wouldn't let Saul kill David, however hard he tried.

And like David, the oil of destiny is upon you, and that holy oil will surely preserve you.

You are God's David today. The oil on you is for a divine purpose. That oil is your protection. It makes you invisible and invincible. Satan has no power over you. The oil on your head guarantees survival, security and success for you.

I charge you to banish fear and welcome faith. Stop entertaining the thought that Saul will one day kill you, not when you have God's oil on your life.

Don't Say That. It is well with you. Amen.
