Text: Act.7:35
"This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer..."

Moses was born at a critical time in the history of God's people, in the time of the Egyptian bondage. He was a peculiar child and destined to greatness by God. By divine orchestration he ended up in the palace as the son of Pharaoh's daughter.

By the age of forty he was already a man mighty in words and works - a man learned in all the wisdom of Egypt, well tutored and cultured, an outstanding military leader and next in line to the throne of the Egyptian Empire.

Then suddenly, unplanned and out of provocation he committed murder, and in that instant, his life nosedived and his world crashed. He couldn't control his anger, and that left a dent on his character and questioned his loyalty and eligibility to the throne.

In the prime of his life he went on self-exile as Pharaoh had issued a warrant for his arrest. In just a moment, his life was ending as it was beginning. And for forty years he lived a mediocre life in the desert. He saw his whole life coming to an end unceremoniously. His golden destiny and royal dignity came to nothing. Now he is eighty years old. All hope seems gone. He is closer to the grave than ever. He's been unable to achieve any feats even as his life has remained ordinary and low key for four decades.

Then suddenly, at the 'back of the desert' (wherever that was), Moses sights a little spot burning with unquenchable fire. All his life he had never seen such a great sight - a mighty fireworks put together by God. And from the fire came a divine voice, telling Moses, that it wasn't over yet for him. Destiny still beckons. All hope is not lost. God is still God. Age is not an issue where God is concerned. Moses, right there and then, was duly assigned, highly anointed, ably assisted and divinely authorized by Yahweh to be the deliverer of Israel - in fact, deliverer and lawgiver in one.

He acquitted himself well before Pharaoh and the people of Israel, fulfilled his destiny and earned a spot in the annals of history. He lived to be 120 years of age. His burial was attended and conducted by God Himself. What a change! What a transition!

I present to you the lesson of a man who moved from hero to zero, and then again, from zero to hero. His name is Moses - the most famous figure in the history of Israel. From the crucible of the desert God brought him to a pinnacle of great success and to a position of great honor. He transcended the mundane and reached the sublime.

It is not over for you. God has arranged another Burning Bush for you, and He is speaking to you now through me. I pray that you shall not die unfulfilled. Rise up and do what God has been telling you to do. Embrace His fullness and tread the path of obedience. It is said that the downfall of a man is not the end of his life, and I tell you for sure, that failure is not final. Amen.
