Focus: Gift of Fear-Nots at Christmas!
Text: Isa.41:10
"Fear thou not…"
It's Christmas today! Worship services will soon begin and celebrations to follow afterwards. Truly Christ is good news to all mankind. He came to give humanity a new beginning and a brand new world. He came to reconnect heaven and earth together in our lives.
Let me share with you the 'fear nots' around the birth of Christ, believing that it will bless your soul.
1. Fear not
The angel of the Lord says to the shepherds, "FEAR NOT: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord" (Lk.2:10-11).
The angel is not here to frighten you, but to break the good news of the arrival of Christ the Savior to our world. Don't be afraid, for the Savior is here. It's time to spread the news of salvation. It's time to preach the gospel of Christ. He was born to save and to rule. It's salvation time.
2. Fear not
The angel from heaven says to Mary, "FEAR NOT, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God… The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God… For with God nothing shall be impossible" (Lk.1:30,35,37). Expel your fears and receive the favor of God. God makes the impossible possible. God says to Mary and us, 'I will use you to show to the world that I am capable of the incredible. Through you the world will see me in human shape - God in the flesh.' What are the impossibilities in your life? Are there issues too big for you to handle? Count on God. Call on Him. He is still in the business of making the impossible possible.
3. Fear not
The angel says to Zachariah, "FEAR NOT, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John" (Lk.1:13). Repel fear from your life. No need to get agitated. Delayed answer to your prayer has finally come. God has finally attended to the unanswered prayer of yours. The answer you have sought for a long time has at last been released from heaven. You will soon testify. Family and friends will soon rejoice with you. It happened to Zachariah and his wife, and I am sure it will happen to you, too. Receive the answer you have prayed and waited for.
4. Fear not
The angel says to Joseph, "FEAR NOT to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost… Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife" (Mt.1:20,24). To obey God with immediacy and urgency, especially in matters we are confused about, we need to dispel fear. Nothing keeps us from obeying God immediately and outrightly as fear. But Joseph conquered his fears and complied with God's orders, and so will you also.
God is saying to you, 'Fear not to obey Me. Do My behests and follow My instructions, and it shall be well with you.'
Man has broken all the laws of God, even the 'fear nots.' But I pray you keep this law of 'fear not.' It is for your good.
Fear not, for your salvation has come. Fear not, for the impossible is possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. Fear not, for your long awaited answer has come. It is possible to have at old age what you couldn't have at youth. Finishing strong and ending well is better than fairing well at first and fading away at last. Fear not to walk the path of obedience with God. It is best to obey God any time and any day.
