Focus: He's Not A One-Way God!
Text: Gen.2:5
"And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground."
Our God is not a one-way God, especially when it comes to doing things. He has a million and one ways to do whatever He wants. He is not bound by any protocols; He is only bound by His word. Human systems, structures, traditions and protocols cannot keep or hinder God from achieving His intended purposes.
Our text tells us there was a time when God had not caused it to rain on the earth. The earth needed rain to flourish, but God had yet to release rain from heaven. The ground was dry and plants couldn't grow for lack of rain. Isn't it wonderful to know that our God causes things to happen? He is the God of creativity and productivity. He is the rain Maker.
He knows how to get things done, He has His ways, and possesses limitless intelligence and infinite power.
The beauty of it all is that God didn't let anything go wrong in the earth because of a lack of rain. The season for rain had not yet come, but God allowed nothing to go wrong because of the absence of rain. So we read, "But there went up a MIST from the earth, and WATERED the whole face of the ground" (Gen.2:6). Did you notice that little word 'but'? It means that God was there to take care of the situation. No rain yet to water the earth, but… The time of rain had not yet come, but… God knows where, when, and how to fill in the gap or provide temporary measure to tackle a situation. God caused a subterranean water to flow up and water the entire surface of the ground, thereby using an underground water or means to achieve the same result as the rain. God used a mist to do the work of a rain. A mist served God's purpose amid no rain.
The Lord Jesus Christ asked Philip where they could find enough food to feed the hungry multitude, and John wrote that "this he said to prove him: for he himself KNEW what he would do" (Jh.6:6).
Our Lord Jesus Christ is all-knowing. He knows what to do to get settle issues and deal with tight-corner situations.
Listen, child of God, your God knows what to do and how to go about blessing you. God cannot be stopped or hindered from doing anything that He wants to do. He is the God of infinite knowledge and sovereign power.
I believe that God will always find a way to water your soul and the ground on which you stand. He has every means of attending to your needs. Whether by rainfall or by any other means, one thing is certain, God will without fail water or irrigate your life. He knows that your life needs moisture and manure, and He has the capacity to deal with and end the dryness in your life.
Your God will cause your ground to yield water. God is capable of using even an underground water to fulfill the job of rain water. Your problem doesn't give God a headache, because He is not clueless or powerless in handling matters. Your circumstances pose no threat to the God you serve. Hear me, there is a mist in the absence of rain! Rain or mist, it is all of God's doing. If He does not use the rain to touch your life, He will use the mist. He is not a one-way God. Just trust Him! Amen!
