Text: Jh.6:6

"And this he said to prove him: for HE himself KNEW what he would do."

God knows. Yes, He does! Believe it. Don't think otherwise. The Scripture makes it clear that God is all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-powerful. His presence is everywhere.

*God knows

What does God know about you? The psalmist speaking of God, says, "You know me." God has total knowledge of you. He knows you beyond what you know of yourself.

He knows you have been with Him for days and years in desert places. He knows it's getting late. He knows you are hungry and have no food to eat. He knows how distant away you are from home and from where you can get the help you need. He knows you seem stuck or trapped in one place. He knows you are in a fix or tight spot. He knows that times are hard and you have no space to breathe.

In Exodus 3:7, God says to Moses, "I have surely SEEN the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have HEARD their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I KNOW their sorrows." God knows your tears, sees your troubles and listens to your issues. He knows who is responsible for what you are going through. He knows who is sitting on your promotion and making things difficult for you at the workplace. He knows what is frustrating your efforts.

The psalmist says, "For he KNOWETH our frame; he remembereth that we are dust" (Ps.103:14). God knows your nature and human frailty. He knows your limitations and liabilities. He knows the demons that you are fighting against. He sees the obstacles and understands the pressures.

In Psalm 139:1, the psalmist says to the Lord, "You know me." God knows you completely. Nothing about you is hidden in His sight. In verse 2, he says, "Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off." He knows your location and house address. He knows where you are or live. He knows what is going on in your mind and the thoughts running through your head.

*God knows what to do

Jesus knows the gravity of your situation. He knows it will take a miracle to feed a crowd of thousands in a desert place. So while telling the disciples to do something about the situation, John reports that the Master Jesus knows what to do to take care of the challenge.

The Lord Jesus Christ constantly wants us to be a part of own miracles and that of others. He seeks our participation. And the disciples did succeed in bringing a few loaves and fish which the Lord miraculously multiplied. The people ate to their satisfaction with plenty leftovers.

Your God not only knows everything about you, but he also knows what to do to get you out of your trouble and change your situation. The Lord is your Shepherd and you shall not lack for anything. His name is the Elshaddai - the all-sufficient God. In Paul's doxology, he says your God is "able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" (Eph.3:20). God knows what to do and He is able to do much more than you can ever imagine or dream.

The wise thing for you to do is trust Him and follow Him patiently. It's said that when you can't see His hand, trust His heart. Amen.
