Text: Rom.2:1

"Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man…"

Man keeps deceiving himself by excusing away a whole lot of things in the name that it doesn't matter. Yet in the light of history and experience it is evident that it-doesn't-matter always turns out to be dozens of matters.

*It does matter if you have not brushed your teeth or washed your body for days, or perhaps weeks.

*It does matter that you have not eaten for days and weeks.

*It does matter that you feel no sense of pain in your body, regardless of what happens to you. To feel no pain is a disease.

*It does matter that you are idle, doing nothing.

*It does matter what you believe about God and this life, because belief informs and influences behavior.

*It does matter that you work tirelessly and see no results.

*It does matter that you find yourself living alone in a crowded universe.

*It does matter all the killings and kidnappings going on in our world.

*It does matter that the United Nations Organization was established to ensure peace in the world, but since its inception we have seen more wars and international conflicts than ever before.

*It does matter that "man was born free, but everywhere he is in chains," according to another.

*It does matter for all the evils and sufferings endangering the human existence.

*It does matter that man finds it easier to do the wrong things than the right things.

Even little things matter - be it little evil or little good. Paul says, "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump" (Gal.5:9). Stop saying it doesn't matter or you will soon have dozens of matters on your hands. It is the things we say doesn't matter that develop into monsters that threaten our existence or turn into whiskers that bite our fingers.

Ignorance matters as well as knowledge. Wickedness matters as well as righteousness. Loving God and others matters as well as hate. Evil matters as well as good. Darkness matters as well as light.

The good or evil that men do will produce results according to its kind. We reap what we sow. Make the right choices and do the right things. Life has a way of giving you back what you deserve, because input always determines output. Stop making unnecessary excuses! People who fail make excuses and those who succeed give reasons. How shocking it will be to wake one day and find out that the things you thought never mattered are indeed the things that mattered most!
