Focus: It's Your Set Time
Text: Ps.102:13
"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the SET TIME, is come."
I have the mandate of the Spirit to declare to you that your set time has come. God owns and manages time. The Lord Jesus Christ talked to the disciples about "the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power" (Act.1:7). Eugene Peterson paraphrases, "Timing is the Father's business." Satan is not in control of time; God is. The psalmist says, "My times are in thy hand" (Ps.31:15). Beloved of God, be assured that God is working something out for you. The writer of Ecclesiastes says, "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time" (Ecl.3:11). God has beautifully orchestrated things for you. Your God has arranged for you to experience "the times of refreshing" from His very presence. Your Father in heaven "changes the times and the seasons" (Dan.2:21). Things are about to change for good in your life.
Stephen takes us back to the days of Moses, and says, "But WHEN THE TIME OF THE PROMISE DREW NIGH, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt" (Act.7:17). That promised time is here for you. What has God promised you? The time is not just near; it is here. You are now living in the "fullness of times." Your own day of Pentecost has fully come. Prophetic momentum is becoming prophetic fulfillment. We read concerning Sarah, "For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, AT THE SET TIME of which God had spoken to him" (Gen.21:2). God will not only keep to His word, He will keep to time. The time for God to favor you has come.
You have come of age to receive the things that God has kept in store for you. Paul says a child is kept "under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father" (Gal.4:2). The estate or the inheritance belongs to the child, but he only gets to possess it when he becomes an adult. Maturity is key to possessing your possession.
The Father waited for the right time to release His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Galatians 4:4 says, "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law." God has programmed your success and scheduled your prosperity. There is a "due time" for everything God does. Your salvation is nearer than when you first believed. It is your time and turn to shout for joy, dance for joy, leap for joy, and sing for joy.
Peter says, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time" (1Pet.5:6). Keep a cool head and trust God to lift you up. Your season of divine favor has come.
Finally, what you do now determines what you will get tomorrow. Hosea speaks as God's mouthpiece, "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for IT IS TIME to seek the LORD, TILL he come and rain righteousness upon you" (Hos.10:12). Till your ground. Your life cannot continue to lie fallow. It's action time. Your God has moved from your neighborhood to your doorstep. Look up and watch out. Wipe the tears and cheer up!
