Focus: Jesus Is Coming Again!

Text: 1Thes.4:16.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first."

When Christ came for the first time, he said, "Then said I, LO, I COME (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God" - Ps.40:7; Heb.10:7. All the way from heaven he came to earth and accomplished our salvation. When he was done, he said, "And now I am no more in the world... and I COME TO THEE" - Jh.17:11. Yes, he came from heaven to earth, and now he's back to heaven from the earth!

For his second coming, he says, "Surely I COME QUICKLY. Amen" - Rev.22:20.

So He's coming again from heaven. He said it himself, and our hope is anchored to that. It's a sure hope. It's a blessed hope. It's the hope of a glorious future and of eternal bliss.

In view of the certainty of his coming, Peter exhorts us, "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, WHAT MANNER OF PERSONS OUGHT YE TO BE in all holy conversation and godliness. LOOKING FOR and HASTING unto the coming of the day of God..." - 2Pet.3:11-12.

"Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" Amen.
