Focus: Justify Your Existence!
Text: Lk.13:7
"Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?"
We are in the first month of the year 2025. It is a brand new year. In this first month we are fasting and praying for fourteen days, beginning from today, 6th January. We have come up with an acronym for JANUARY, which is meant to stir up our spirits and steer us in the right direction. It is also meant to guide our prayers while fasting and waiting on our God.
Here's the acronym:
*Justify your existence
*Amplify your confidence
*Nullify negative proclivities
*Utilize your chances
*Actualize your potential
*Rectify hitches quickly
*Yield self to pleasing God
We are focusing on the first one, which is: justify your existence! Don't let your existence in 2025 be a regret to God and those around you! God did not bring you through into a new year to no purpose. Justify the reason for being alive today! Being alive in the year 2025 is another chance to making your presence on planet earth felt by the people of your generation. Don't live in vain! Refuse to let your existence count for nothing!
A vineyard owner planted a fig tree, and when the time of harvest came, he came looking for fruits to harvest, and for three years he found no fruits to harvest. Then he said to the man he put in charge, "Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?" (Lk.13:7). God has taken you out of the year 2024 and brought you into the year 2025.
He has planted you here to bear fruits, to make a difference in your corner of the world and beyond, and to advance the purpose of God on earth.
Make sure you are not occupying God's space in vain! Be like Jesus Christ who was totally focused on fulfilling His divine destiny and God-given purpose. He says, "Tell that fox that I've no time for him right now. Today and tomorrow I'm busy clearing out the demons and healing the sick; the third day I'm wrapping things up…" (Lk.13:32-33).
Live for a purpose! Don't waste your existence! You are here for a divine reason.
David was sent to the Israeli military camp to find out how his brothers were faring, to bring them supplies, and find out what they were in need of. But on arrival, he was being reprimanded for showing interest in the battle and for seeking to know the arrogant and boastful uncircumcised Philistine, who was striking fear in the hearts of the Israeli soldiers. David said to his brothers, "What have I now done? Is there not a cause?" (1Sam.17:29). David knew that he was not there just to run errands for his father, but that God brought him to the camp of Israel for something else.
Life is never meant to be lived generally, but particularly and specifically.
It is said that the purpose of life is a life of purpose.
Winston S. Churchill said, "It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something."
I pray you justify your existence! I pray that you do not occupy space for nothing! I pray that your life will count for something noble and awesome! I pray that you blossom right where God has planted you! Pray and covenant with God to live to manifest His glory and fulfill His mandate on your life! Bear fruits for your God! Let your existence be meaningful and powerful!
