Focus: Mental Renewal
Text: Rom.12:2."And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the RENEWING of your MIND..."
Success happens first in the mind before it occurs in life. Success or failure is first a thing of the mind. A lot of us are too poor in the head. We tend to living a B.C life in an A.D world. Someone has described the word POOR, by way of acronym, as one who 'Passes Over Opportunities Repeatedly.' And that is because the mind is less used and never stretched.
We all need to break free in our minds fundamentally. Our minds are accustomed to thinking in certain ways. There is a ceiling over our minds. We need roofless mentality. Mind that rises vertically and stretches horizontally.
I was reliably informed of a University in the Arab Emirates that offers 'thinking' as a course. That is a crucial course for everyone. Even the Scripture offers us such a course. In Mt.18:12, Jesus asks, "HOW think ye?" In Mt.21:28, he asks, "WHAT think ye?" And in Mt.22:42, "WHAT think ye of the Christ?" 'What' and 'how' you think matters. You know, the schools only teach us 'what' to think, not 'how' to think. That's the problem, and that's why we always see and pursue life AS IT IS, instead of seeing and pursuing life AS IT OUGHT TO BE. Life as it is isn't life as God intended it.
We need to think and think creatively. Thinking future. Thinking success. Thinking solutions. Thinking positively. Thinking differently. Thinking out of the box. Thinking radically. Thinking biblically.
Nothing changes spherically until it has changed internally - right in the mind.
It's time for us to make mental renewing a priority. To renew implies new way of thinking. A new mindset. Allow God's word room in your life. God's word is mentally liberating and transforming. By means of God's word life is radically altered.
