Focus: Miracle at the Table
Text: Jh.12:2"Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him."
Every now and then when we see what marvels us, we say, 'Wonders shall never cease.'
Let me say to you right now that as long as God sits on the throne of the universe and we live in the world created by him, miracles will keep happening. The universe itself is a miracle made possible by God.
The last we heard or read about Lazarus was that he was sick and died, was buried and stinking, and in just a moment Jesus visited his grave site and recalled him to life. Now the news is that Lazarus is at the table with Jesus. Yesterday he was dead and buried; today he is dining with the master, fully alive. From the burying ground to the banquet table with Jesus. From the land of the dead to a feast with the living Lord.
God is speaking to you now as you are going through this message. You shall live and testify of the goodness of God. Your story shall not end in shame or sorrow. The Lord will help you out of that deadly situation. God has arranged a feast for you.
Interestingly, Lazarus is a corruption of the name Eliezer - El, name for God, and azar, the word for help. Put together, it means, God has helped me, or, God is my helper. You are right now in front of your divine helper. Help has come to you from the Lord.
In another instance, Jesus raised back to life the daughter of the ruler of the synagogue, and instructed the people "that something should be given her to eat" - Mk.5:43. From the dead to a meal. Jesus cares about you even in little matters - even food matters.
Believe God. He cares about you. Please share your testimony with me! I see it happening. I see you coming out of that pain and testifying of God's goodness. You are the next miracle at the table. Amen.
