Focus: My Prayer For You (Pt.1)

Text: Prov.14:23

"In all labour there is profit."

My prayer for you today focuses on your HANDS. I pray God to bless your hands and make them industrious, productive and profitable. O Lord, make the hands of Your child sufficient for him according to Your word (Dt.33:7)!

Lord, give Your child the capacity to minister to his own needs and that of others with his own hands (Act.20:34).

Your Word says, "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it" (Ps.127:1). Help Your child not to labor nor build in vain! Your Word says, "The labour of the righteous tendeth to life…" (Prov.10:16). Let it be so for Your child! Fulfill Your word in his life that says, "For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee" (Ps.128:2).

Child of the most high God, you will eat the labor of your hands. By labor you shall gather and increase in resources (Prov.13:11).

Lord, Your child shall not be a foolish laborer! His energy shall yield the effects of great intelligence (Ecl.10:15). Lord, it is proper and good for Your child "to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion" (Ecl.5:18). It is written in Your word, "Every man also to whom God hath GIVEN riches and wealth, and hath GIVEN him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the GIFT of God" (Ecl.5:19).

Let Your child rejoice in his labor! Grant him prosperity and posterity!

In the event that his labor delays to yield fruit, give him the ability to wait faithfully and patiently for it! Let him be able to say with Habakkuk, "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength…" (Hab.3:17-19).

Lord, help Your child stay true to his faith even when he sees no fruit in his life! When faith is yet to bear fruit, Lord, help Your own to stay faithful!

It is written in your word, "Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees" (Heb.12:12). I pray God to raise good friends and family members who will hold up your hands when they wax feeble. The plan of the enemy will not see the light of day. Like Jacob, you will be able to say, "Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight" (Gen.31:17).

Your God will rebuke whoever wants to suck you dry and eat you raw. You will survive every onslaught of evil-minded people.

Your experience will be different from that of Rachel, who "travailed, and she had hard labour," and died soon after delivery (Gen.35:16).

You shall not die in the place of labor!

I pray that beyond labor you will enjoy the blessings of favor, for the Lord says, "I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat" (Josh.24:13). The surplus of favor shall be your portion!

Lord, grant Your own not only the reward of labor, but also the fruits of favor! Help Your child to enjoy the benefits and blessings of Christ's labor on Calvary!

Your Word says, "I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1Tim.2:8). Let the hands of Your child not only labor for material gains, but also for spiritual good! Let his hands be lifted in prayer as well as be committed to industry!

It is written in Your Word that "Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground" (Neh.8:6). Lord, may the hands by which Your child labors also be the hands by which he worships! Let his hands be lifted up in worship of You, for who You are and for what You have done! Let his hands be for both work and worship! I pray that you will be able to say with the psalmist, "Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice" (Ps.141:2). Amen.
