Focus: My Prayer For You (Pt.5)

Text: Dt.15:17

"Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his EAR unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever..."

My prayer for you today concerns your EARS. Lord, according to our text, I pray that You leave the mark of ownership on the ears of Your child, for he delights in being Your servant forever. It is written in Your Word, "Ye stiffnecked and UNCIRCUMCISED IN heart and EARS, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye" (Act.7:51). Lord, circumcise the ears of Your child, deal with the problem of "itching ears" and dullness of hearing, and help him not to turn his ears away from the truth, and let him imbibe the spiritual discipline of not listening to fables or falsehood (2Tim.4:3; Heb.5:11; 2Tim.4:4)!

Lord, Your Word says "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine EARS hast thou opened…" (Ps.40:6). I pray: let Your child not go through the motions and rituals of worship without hearing Your voice and getting Your message! Dig open his ears and make him hear You! Lord, like Samuel, speak to him in his ears (1Sam.9:15)! Let him be able to say, like the psalmist, "I will incline mine EAR to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp" (Ps.49:4). 

By Your Spirit he shall hear and understand Your deep and veiled words, and each time he hears Your Word, let faith spring up in his heart (Rom.10:17)!

May Your child declare boldly and confidently, " Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine EAR hath heard and UNDERSTOOD it" (Jb.13:11).

Lord, Your Word says, "He that turneth away his EAR from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination" (Prov.28:9). The prayer of Your child shall line up with Your Word! For his knowledge of Your Word he shall not pray in vain!

Lord, You said in Your Word, "If thou wilt diligently HEARKEN to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give EAR to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee" (Ex.15:26). 

As he hears Your Word and heeds Your voice, let his healing and wholeness be guaranteed! Set him apart, health wise, from the rest of the world.

Lord Jesus Christ, You said, "What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye HEAR in the EAR, that preach ye upon the housetops" (Mt.10:27). Make him hear Your words in the closet and declare them in the open! 

Give him hearing ears and a receptive heart! Let him do as he hears!

Lord, You said, "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Rev.2:7). Lord, the Holy Spirit is speaking to the church; give Your child hearing and heeding ears, and like Isaiah, let him be able to say, "And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts…" (Isa.22:14).

It is written in Your Word, "The EARS of all the people were ATTENTIVE unto the BOOK of the law" (Neh.8:3). Lord, let the ears of Your child be trained to hear Your voice as he reads Your Word! 

Let the Holy Book speak for Your child to hear, and bless him for hearing (Mt.13:16)!

It is written, "For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine EARS, the babe leaped in my womb for joy" (Lk.1:44). Lord, make a connection between his ears and his 'womb'! 

Impregnate his spirit through his ear gates, and let him experience in his hearing a fulfillment of Scripture (Lk.4:21)! Let glad tidings from heaven come to his ears always, and as Your sheep, make him hear Your voice and follow You (Act.11:22; Jh.10:27)!

Lord, thank You for hearing my prayers and attending to my requests. Amen!
