Focus: My Prayer For You (Pt.6)
Text: Ex.4:11
"And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's MOUTH?"
My prayer for you today concerns the MOUTH or the TONGUE. Lord God, from Your Word, we understand that You are the maker and master of our mouth, and You have made it for tasting, eating, drinking and speaking.
Your Word says, "O TASTE and see that the LORD is good… How sweet are thy words unto my TASTE! yea, sweeter than honey to my MOUTH!" (Ps.34:8; 119:103). Lord God, you said to Ezekiel, "Son of man, EAT that thou findest; EAT this roll, and go SPEAK unto the house of Israel. So I opened my MOUTH, and he caused me to EAT that roll" (Ezk.3:1,2). John says, "And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ATE it up…" (Rev.10:10). The Lord Jesus says, "My MEAT is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work" (Jh.4:34). Again, He says, "If any man THIRST, let him come unto me, and DRINK" (Jh.7:37). The writer of Hebrews says concerning Christ, "that he by the grace of God should TASTE death for every man" (Heb.2:9). Balaam says to Balak, "Lo, I am come unto thee: have I now any power at all to SAY any thing? the WORD that God putteth in my MOUTH, that shall I SPEAK" (Num.22:38).
Lord, grant Your child the privilege of tasting and experiencing Your presence and power, enjoying Your provisions, feeding on Your word, drinking of Your Spirit, and expressing Your will in words and in deeds!
You said to Moses, "Now therefore go, and I will be with thy MOUTH, and teach thee what thou shalt SAY." Concerning Aaron, You said to Moses, "And thou shalt SPEAK unto him, and put WORDS in his MOUTH: and I will be with thy MOUTH, and with his MOUTH, and will teach you what ye shall do" (Ex.4:12,15).
Lord, let Your words flow through the mouth of Your child! Make him Your mouthpiece, an oracle of the Lord to the people of God!
Let him be able to prayerfully say, "Let the WORDS of my MOUTH, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer" (Ps.19:14).
Your Word says that "death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof" (Prov.18:21).
Lord, guide Your child to use his tongue rightly and guard his mouth against any wrong use of it! Let him know the power that resides in his tongue!
You work miracles even in a man's mouth. It is written concerning Zachariah whose mouth you touched, "And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God" (Lk.1:64). Before the miracle he used his mouth to express doubt and unbelief, but now after the miracle, he used his tongue to praise and worship You. Lord, transform the tongue of Your child! Let him be able to say, "The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue" (2Sam.23:2). Let his tongue "speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long" (Ps.35:28). Let him boldly declare, "My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness" (Ps.119:172). Work wonders in his life and embolden him to say, "Then was our MOUTH filled with laughter, and our TONGUE with singing: then SAID they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them" (Ps.126:2).
Put a song on his lips and let his mouth know laughter! Let people see and testify of what You have done for him!
Your Word says, "The TONGUE of the wise is health" (Prov.12:18). "A wholesome tongue is a tree of life" (Prov.15:4). Indeed, words of wisdom are medicinal, and a healthy tongue is a life-giving tree. Lord, let Your child be marked with words of wisdom and remarked with creative words!
Train and discipline the mouth of Your child to utter goodly words, and let his confession be that "the Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned" (Isa.50:4).
Your Word says, "Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my TONGUE was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope" (Act.2:26).
Lord, a glad tongue is what I pray for Your child. Make him rejoice with Your goodness and in Your presence!
Your Word says, "Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue… My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit" (Jb.20:12; 27:4). Your Word says, "For there is no faithfulness in their mouth… His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity" (Ps.5:9; 10:7). Again, Your Word says, "Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile" (Ps.34:13).
"I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me." "If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain." "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile" (Ps.34:13; 39:1; Jam.1:26; 1Pet.3:10).
Lord, Your child longs for a good life and a long life! He desires to lead a life in which his words and his works, and his belief and behavior are in harmony.
So, Lord, let his tongue not take him in the wrong direction! Take away from him words that ruin destiny and endanger peace of mind! Take away unfaithfulness from his mouth and let not wickedness be sweet in his mouth! Thank you, Lord Jesus!
Lord, You said in Your Word "that whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH" (Mk.11:23).
Let Your child move mountains with his own mouth! Let his declarations become demonstrations of Your power and authority! Let him have what he prays and declares by faith!
When he speaks, let it be faith speaking, not sentiments! Lord, You said in Your Word, "PROPHESY upon these bones, and SAY unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD" (Ezk.37:4). Lord, there is power in the mouth of Your child to change circumstances, and it is the power of the Holy Spirit. Through prayerful and prophetic declarations of Your child, transformation will take place and dry bones will live again, and as it is written, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every TONGUE that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt CONDEMN…" (Isa.54:17).
Today Your child rejects and condemns in totality every word or judgment of man that is not in line or in sync with what You have said concerning him. The evil words of men shall not come to pass in his life! The conclusions of men that are contrary to the word of God for his life are hereby declared a nullity, in the name of Jesus Christ. Only You, Lord, have the final say in his life. Amen!
