Focus: Ninefold Ministry of the Anointing

Text: 2Cor.1:21

"He which…hath anointed us, is God."

The anointing is the Spirit's dynamic in the life of the Christian. It is the unction by which we function and fruition. We are empty without it.

The anointing does so much, but let me share here with you about nine aspects of its activities in our lives.

1. The anointing sets one apart for use.

It's written: "I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him" (Ps.89:20). Also, "Who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?" (1Chron.29:5). Ezekiel says, "They shall consecrate themselves" (Ezk.43:26). So the anointing consecrates.

2. The anointing empowers one for ministry.

It's written: "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power" (Act.10:38).

3. The anointing protects.

The psalmist says, "Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm" (Ps.105:15).

4. The anointing heals.

Mark 6:13 says, "And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them." Also, read Jam.5:14-15.

5. The anointing provides.

In time of famine it provided for Elijah miraculously (1Kgs.17:3-6,9-10; 19:5,7).

6. The anointing breaks yokes.

Isaiah declares: "And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing" (Isa.10:27).

7. The anointing saves.

Ps.20:6 says, "Now know I that the LORD SAVETH his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the SAVING STRENGTH of his right hand," and also Psalms 28:8 says, "The LORD is their strength, and he is the SAVING STRENGTH of his anointed."

8. The anointing imparts joy.

The psalmist declares: "Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows" (Ps.45:7).

9. The anointing works miracles.

Peter says, "Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know" (Act.2:22). Also, Acts 6:8 says, "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people."

By the Spirit's anointing upon me I break the yokes in your life and release you from every form of captivity in the name of Jesus Christ. Receive your miracle now. Amen.
