Focus: Our Confident Hope
Text: Heb.11:13."These all died in faith..."
A graveyard in England has this epitaph:
"I have sinned;
I have repented;
I have trusted;
I have loved;
I rest;
I shall rise;
I shall reign."
That is the confidence we have in Christ. Our Faith in Christ offers us living joy, radiant hope, and dying rest. Yes, in Christ we have hope beyond the grave!
Our patriarchs of faith - Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others - all died in faith, having the full assurance that God would do just as he had promised.
What a lovely way to die - in faith, not in unbelief! They died still believing and holding unto God's promise.
From the depth of my heart I pray for every member of your family. Let none die without Christ. Let no one die without ever acknowledging and confessing Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
Please, cry out to them to make this decision of utmost importance, and may God help them as they decide for Christ and commit themselves to serving him for the rest of their lives.
I also pray for the preachers behind the pulpits, bearing in mind the words of Dr. Michael L. Brown, that "far too many preachers today are playing lullaby when they need to be sounding an alarm." O, Lord, help us!
Blessings!
