Focus: Question & Answer
Daniel was thrown into the den of lions by sheer conspiracy of a political gang-up. The king felt powerless to save him, and to hungry lions Daniel was a ready meat, but God... Daniel's situation was hopeless as the king was helpless, but God...
For all through the night the king couldn't sleep, because he knew a good man had been wrongfully accused and condemned, and he comes early in the morning to the den of lions to find out the fate of Daniel.
"And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is THY GOD, whom thou servest continually, ABLE to deliver thee from the lions?" - Dan.6:20.
That was the king's question, and to which Daniel answered back, "MY GOD hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt" - Dan.6:22.
Did you notice, "thy God" and "my God"? I concur with Martin Luther that "Christianity is a word of personal pronoun." We worship and serve a God who is intensely personal. Daniel knew God personally and experienced him firsthand.
I declare that you will not end up as food in the mouth of any lion, for your God will preserve you. You shall have proofs of God's power and ready answers for questions about what your God can do. Amen.
