Focus: Role of Power
Text: Judg.6:14."Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel..."
Power is given to be used or exercised. To have power and not use it is a sin. That's a waste. To use power for what it is not meant for is a sin. That's abuse. To make little use of so much power is a sin. That's power under utilized.
What God said to Gideon, he says to us right now. "Go in this thy might." This is power for action - GO. This is power for the individual, not corporate - THIS THY might. This is power for service, not for domination or ruination of others - Thou shall SAVE Israel.
I say to you today: YOU have power. God has given you what it takes to succeed in this life. Within you is lodged divine capacity for a divine destiny - the destiny of saving, positively touching, and enriching lives. There are people God has given you the power to help or save.
Listen to me: you can do it. You can make it. You can achieve great goals and reach lofty heights in life.
Stop looking down on yourself. You are neither powerless, helpless, nor hopeless.
There's power in you that you haven't yet discovered or exercised - enormous power.
Stop being afraid. Launch out. Step unto the action stage. Do something with the intelligence and power you've got. Stop making excuses. Stop limiting yourself and limiting your God.
You can't afford to leave your world the way you met it. It's time to turn things around with the ability of God in you.
Get up; get dressed, and get going - save Israel, save a life. Surely someone will testify because of you. Amen.
