Focus: Seeing and Serving God

Text: Act.9:3-7

Paul's encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus exposes us to two main questions.

Firstly, Paul asked, Who are you, Lord? Lastly, Paul asked, Lord, what do you want me to do?

These are the two fundamental questions of human existence - Who is the Lord and what does He want from me?

Knowing God results in doing something for Him. Paul SAW the Lord and HEARD His voice. He caught a revelation of divine identity and was given a sense of his life's mission on earth.

That is the whole essence of existence - experiencing the reality of God and engaging in His work.

1. Vision of the Lord

Have you seen the Lord? Do you have a personal knowledge of who your God is? Can you say like Paul, I know in whom I have believed? Has Jesus revealed Himself in you or to you? Knowing God is the highest knowledge. Nothing is really worth knowing until God is known. We need ears and eyes to both hear and see God.

2. Vocation of the Lord

What is your calling from God? What are you living or dying for? Are you barely or merely existing? Are you living just for self? The Lord says to Paul, Go into the city and you shall be told what you MUST do. Your mission on earth is a must - a divine necessity, a divine imperative. Until you do that one thing God wants you to do, nothing you have done or will ever do is worth anything in the sight of God.

I pray you hear God's voice and see His face. Again, I pray you see God and devote your entire life to serving His purpose in the earth. Amen.
