Focus: Show Me Your Glory!
Text: Ex.33:18"And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory."
This is my daily hunger and longing: to see and manifest God's glory.
The glory of God is the goal of life and of our assignment on earth.
Past glory
John says, "And we beheld his glory." That's past glory.
Present glory
Paul says, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord..." That's the glory in the present tense. We must not settle on the glory we saw yesterday. Is the glory a present reality in your life right now? God's glory is ever fresh. Behold the glory now. God's glory is not a thing of the past. It is ever unfolding.
Future glory
In John 17:24, Jesus prays for us, "That they may behold my glory." That's future glory. That's eschatological glory. That's final glory. We are moving toward that future glory.
The glory we have seen in times past and the glory we are seeing in the present time cannot compare to the glory we shall see in the future when Christ comes back for us. Hallelujah!
I pray you see and manifest the glory of God in all facets of your life. Amen.
