Focus: So Far So Good

Text: 1Sam.7:12

"Hitherto hath the Lord helped us."

Samuel raises a stone and declares with deep conviction and great confidence that the Lord has helped His people, Israel so far.

I want you to go back memory lane and see how good God has been to you. Look back and see how far the Lord has brought you. Look back and see the battles that the Lord has fought for you. Go through different stages of your life in the remote and immediate past, and you can't but see God's active involvement in it all.

He fought your battles, dismantled Satan's devices, and un-messed your mess. God was always on time to save you, moved in swiftly to stop the enemy from harming you, and ensured that His purpose for your life is never derailed.

Indeed God has marvellously helped you thus far. He has bailed you out of tight corner situations and kept you going up to this point.

Looking back from the threshold of a new year, you can say for sure, 'So far so good,' and going forward, life can only get better and sweeter, for "the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day" - Prov.4:18.
