Focus: The Church of Little Dynamite
Text: Rev.3:7-9"For thou hast a LITTLE STRENGTH…"
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon at the winepress, where he was threshing wheat while hiding from the Midianites, he says to him, "The LORD is with thee, thou MIGHTY MAN of VALOUR" - Judg.6:12. Gideon saw himself as a coward, not knowing that he was a mighty man. He lacked a sense of capacity and knew nothing about the presence of God in his life. He had the treasures of God's presence and power.
I really pray that you catch a revelation of who you are and what you have in Jesus Christ. You are mighty and Yahweh is with you. His presence makes you invisible and His power makes you invincible. Hallelujah!
But here is my point: whereas Gideon is said to be mighty and valorous, Jesus says to the church of Philadelphia, "You have a little strength." Mighty in valour on one hand, and little strength on the other hand. God knows our individual and different capabilities.
The word 'little' is micros, and 'strength' is dunamis in the Greek. That is dunamis in small quantity. Their dynamite is quite infinitesimal.
But guess what? Little strength can accomplish much for Christ. With little strength they KEPT the word and HELD ON to the NAME of Christ - not denying God's name.
They had faith and courage. They were firm, fixed, and determined in the Lord. Even with their insignificant power, Jesus said they would witness false claimers of the faith, who are actually under the influence and control of Satan, come to worship at their feet and appreciate the fact that they were deeply loved by Christ.
So sweet to know that I need not have great energy for God to love me. In my little strength He still loves me and opens doors for me, open doors that no man has power to lock. In my little strength I will hold dear the name of my God and keep His word. With my little strength I guard and obey the word.
My beloved, you can do so much with that small strength of Christ in your spirit. Your strength may be small, but the effect will be great when you put it to use. Power increases by use. Make the effort and see the effects. Amen.
