Focus: The Essence of Life (Pt.4)

Text: Jb.10:12; 33:4

"Thou hast GRANTED me LIFE and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit… The Spirit of God hath MADE me, and the BREATH of the Almighty hath GIVEN me LIFE."

On this subject of LIFE we have looked at:

*Loan for investment

*Infusion of divinity for expression in the earth

*Favor for gratitude

And now we focus on the letter E, which is:

*Energy for enterprise

The life of God in us surges with energy. God put inside of us everything we need to live well and do right.

The next thing God did after making us was blessing us. After the blessing came the mandate: be fruitful…multiply…replenish the earth…subdue it…have dominion…till the ground…dress the garden and keep it (Gen.1:26,28; 2:5,15). The blessing is power to do and achieve sure results.

You can't do all these things without adequate power, and to be blessed means to be thoroughly empowered.

Within the life God has given us there is sufficient power to be industrious and productive. It is the power of intelligence and physical fitness. It is power to be creative and productive. It is energy to be earnest and enterprising. It is power to cultivate and sustain nature and improve the wellbeing of others and our environment. In other words, it is a curse for you to leave your world the same way you met it. God has given you the ability to make positive contributions to the world around you. You must not exist in vain.

You are God's steward. You represent the interest of God upon the earth. You are sufficiently equipped by God to change things around you. God has put you in charge with enough energy for industry.

Don't use your power for the wrong things. Utilize every ounce of energy in you for good works. Don't leave this world without using up your intelligence and energy. Don't die with your potential still unrealized.

God has given you power to make wealth; don't die poor. God has given you the ability to change someone's life; make use of it. You are capable of the incredible.

For us Christians, God has given us not only intellectual and physical, but also spiritual powers. We take care of things from the spiritual angle. We are spiritually empowered for spiritual exploits.

Elisha died with power to raise the dead still inside him. Years after he died, a dead body was dropped on his grave, and the dead man sprung to life the moment his dead body touched Elisha's bone. That's power in action. There is miraculous power inside you. God put it there. Someone touched Jesus Christ, and He turned and said, "Virtue has gone out of me." Yes, someone connected and collected, and she was made whole immediately. May people tap into the positive energy that God has given you! I believe that God has given you the power to help the helpless and to strengthen the feeble. Use it. Work a miracle in someone's life. Raise dead hopes and still storms. You can do it.

O Lord, help me not to neglect your power in me! Help me not waste your energy through nonuse or underutilization! Let me not be buried with your power still inside me. Let me die totally empty. Help me to fully offload the power you have given me in a meaningful existence, and help me to pass it on to successors for unbroken continuity. Amen.
