Text: Rev.5:5-6.
"And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the LION of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a LAMB as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."

Here we have the story of the Lamb of God from the vantage point of heaven. John weeps over the sealed scroll which no man was able or worthy to open. Then one of the elders consoles John, telling him that the Lion of Judah has prevailed and is worthy to open the book by breaking the seals thereof. So John wipes his tears and looks up to see the Lion, but instead he sees a Lamb on the throne. Wow. The elder got it wrong. He presented the wrong image or a false animal at that moment. It was not a lion who died on the cross for his people, but a lamb. So a lion has no business around the throne. The Lamb who yielded himself to the most humiliating and excruciating form of death is now elevated to the throne of the universe. The Lamb alone is worthy to take the scroll and break the seals thereof. It was as a Lamb that Jesus died on the cross, not as the Lion of Judah. The one who stooped to serve and sacrifice his life is now sitting on the throne of the universe to reign over us forever.

The suffering one is now the sovereign Lord. The humble Lamb is now the exalted Lamb, lifted to the highest throne in the universe. He is now both Savior and Sovereign.

Learn a big lesson here. Don't seek to be a lion if God has made you a lamb. God knows how to move you from loyalty to royalty in due season. You are both humble and noble. Live and do your bit as a lamb. Jesus says, "I send you as sheep among wolves." Don't act like a wolf when you are a lamb. Don't project yourself as lion when indeed you are a lamb.

Glory awaits you. A throne is waiting for you. God exalts the humble. You will, on the day of glory, stand with the Lord Jesus on the mount of Zion. "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion" - Rev.14:1. Amen.
