Focus: The Hand of God
Text: Isa.59:1
"Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear."
If your life is not experiencing enough of divine activity or action, the reason is not far fetched. The hand of God does the work and fulfills the demand of the word of God. God's hand does God's bidding. No force can hinder God's hand from executing God's agenda or purpose. The power of God's hand is infinite.
Isaiah declares, "Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?" (Isa.40:12). Look elsewhere for the failures in your life. God's hand is not weakened, damaged or shortened. His hand is not in any way curtailed or limited. He stretched forth His arm and delivered Israel from the hard bondage of Egypt and from the terrible fetters of Pharaoh.
In the wilderness, as they marched to the promise land, they desired for another level of God's action and another kind of God's provision. So the LORD said unto Moses, "Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? Thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not" (Num.11:23). The first thing God did was take His Spirit that was on Moses and put on the seventy elders of Israel so that they prophesied, including two of them who were somewhere in the camp. After that, He proceeded to supply the quails they were lusting for. The camp was filled with quails. He furnished for them a table in the wilderness. God's hand is equal to God's tasks. The needs in your life are no match for the power of your God. Check elsewhere for whatever failure that you find in your life. God is not to blame.
Again, Isaiah declares, "Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst" (Isa.50:2).
Prophet Micah, a contemporary of Isaiah, lends his voice of prophecy, "O thou that art named the house of Jacob, Is the spirit of the LORD straitened? Are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?" (Mic.2:7).
God's Spirit is never limited. The upright will constantly experience the presence and action of God. The Lord Jesus Christ could not do many mighty works in His hometown because of their unbelief. He was limited and hindered by their faithlessness (Mt.13:58).
Let us deal with the sin of unbelief and disobedience in our lives, and we will see more of God's loving action and manifestation. God's hand is not suffering from tiredness or shortage of power. Jesus Christ our Lord says, "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work" (Jh.5:17).
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are still working together in our lives. Not seeing the hand of God in your life as frequently as possible is not due to inaction on the part of God, but something needs to be put right in your life for His loving action to become pronounced.
Check the state of your heart and humbly repent before God.
