Focus: The Natural or the Spiritual?

Text: 1Cor.15:48

"As is the EARTHY, such are they also that are EARTHY: and as is the HEAVENLY, such are they also that are HEAVENLY."

Here we have the natural and the spiritual man, or the earthly and the heavenly man. Which one are you attending to?

The Earthly man

Isaiah says of the earthly man or the man of the flesh,

"All flesh is GRASS, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth..." 40:6-7.

The man of the flesh is grass, and like the grass he withers away. He passes away.

The Heavenly man

The psalmist says of the heavenly man, "And he shall be like a TREE planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper" - Ps.1:3.

The spiritual man is like a tree, and lasts forever. Are you the grass-man or the tree-man? Which has more of your attention?

Jesus says, "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life" - Jh.6:27.
