Focus: The Presence of God
Text: Jh.3:2"For no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except GOD BE WITH HIM."
Nicodemus makes a critical and vital point that for a man to work miracles God must be with him.
Only God can do miracles, and for man to do what only God can do, that man needs the presence of God in his life. No man needs be God to work miracles; he only needs God to be with him. Jesus says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise... I CAN OF MINE OWN SELF DO NOTHING" - Jh.5:19,30.
In John 8:28, He says, "Then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things."
The Spirit came upon Him on the day of His baptism by John, and He did all His works by the enabling of the Holy Spirit.
In John 9:33, the argument was, "If this man were not of God, he could do nothing." And concerning us, Jesus says, "For without me ye can do nothing." Paul adds, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" - Phil.4:13.
Christ comes into your life with all the strength you need to do all that He wants you to do.
Jesus worked miracles while here on earth, not because He is God, but because God was with Him. You, too, can do miracles with God in your life.
God wants to work miracles through your hands. We read in Act.19:11, "And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul."
Let God work wonders through you. Become a co-laborer with God. He wants to pass through you. He wants to use you to unleash His power in the earth. What is God asking you to do? He is with you to do it. God is with you to do what you cannot do by yourself. Seek and treasure God's presence. His presence is our greatest treasure. Amen.
