Focus: The Supply Of The Spirit
Text: Phil.1:19
"For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT of Jesus Christ."
We all need the supplies of the Spirit to our lives. The Spirit takes charge of the bottomless storehouse of God. The Spirit is into deliveries. He supplies us all we need from the unsearchable riches of Christ. But the supply of the Spirit is connected to something else.
In Zechariah 12:10, the prophet describes the Spirit as "the Spirit of grace and of supplication." The supply of the Spirit awaits our supplication by the Spirit. What we supplicate the Spirit for, He supplies us. Whenever we supplicate the Father, the Spirit makes the supplies.
It is by way of supplication that we place our orders, and then wait for our delivery, which is done by the Spirit. The Spirit enables us to supplicate and at the same time makes deliveries to us from Heaven's limitless store. The writer of Hebrews says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Heb.4:16). So we have the throne of grace and the Spirit of grace. As we come before the throne of grace to place our orders, we could count on the Spirit of grace to make all the needed supplies. We obtain help just in the nick of time.
God keeps His word and answers prayers. He who has instructed us to pray for anything and everything is trustworthy and capable of doing whatever He says.
The Scripture says, "Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant" (1Kgs.8:56). God has never reneged on any of His promises. He tells us to pray, and when we do, He responds. The Spirit is constantly on standby not only to enable us to supplicate, but also to make the needed deliveries from the throne room to the supplicants.
Today, I want you to know that the Spirit of grace and of supplication is also the supplier of our needs. All you ever need, the Spirit ably and abundantly supplies. I pray that you experience and enjoy the supply of the Spirit even as you commit yourself to making supplications by the enabling of the Spirit of grace. Amen!
