Focus: We Are God's Sheep
Text: Ezk.34:10-29
What a privilege and joy, having God as our Shepherd! It is the marvel of grace to be found in the Lord's fold, and he tenderly cares for his sheep.
From our text, the Shepherd has declared his goodly intentions for us and committed himself to doing a list of things for us. He says:
•I will search and seek them out.
•I will deliver them from all places.
•I will bring them out.
•I will gather them together.
•I will bring them in.
•I will feed them.
•I will cause them to lie down.
•I will bind up the broken.
•I will strengthen the sick.
As our Good, Great, and Chief Shepherd, he is up against the stupid, careless and greedy shepherds who do not have the welfare and wellbeing of the sheep at heart.
Our Shepherd owns rich pastures and there is no lean sheep in it. He supplies all our needs sufficiently. Truly "we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture " - Ps.100:3.
Trust him to take care of you. He knows all about you and how easily you stray. Amen.
