Focus: Why Jesus Came

Text: Jh.8:42

"I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me"

From our text, Jesus came from God to the earth, but let us see a few Scriptures and know why He came.

Jh.6:51 says Jesus came as the living BREAD from heaven. So He is our heavenly MANNA.

Mt.20:28 says Jesus came to MINISTER to us and give His life as RANSOM for us.

Mk.2:17 says He came to CALL sinners to repentance.

Lk.19:10 says He came to SEEK and SAVE the lost.

Jh.6:38 says He came to DO the Father's will

Jh.12:47 says Jesus came to SAVE the world.

Jh.10:10 tells us that He came for us to HAVE LIFE in excess - overflowing life.

In His hour of DEATH, Jesus says in Jh.12:27, "For this cause came I unto this hour." He came to die for us.

In Jh.18:37, Jesus acknowledged being born to be KING and a WITNESS to the truth.

In 1Jh.3:8, John says, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might DESTROY the works of the devil."

For these reasons and more Jesus entered our world, and today, we have reasons enough to celebrate His birth. Just make sure you get all He came to give you! Amen.
