Focus: Wonder to Behold
Text: Ps.118:23
"This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes."
God does visible and tangible things. The psalmist says that what God has done is marvelous in our eyes, not in our ears. It is obvious to the eyes. God's work tells itself. The change God brings to your life has a way of announcing itself. People see it more in your character than in your words.
Several times in the Gospel of Mark our Lord Jesus Christ performs a miracle and then tells the healed not to tell anyone. From one of those Scriptures, I preached a message entitled, 'Don't Tell Me Not To Tell.'
In Mark 1:43-44, the Lord Jesus heals a LEPER and tells him not to announce it.
In Mark 3:12, the Lord Jesus heals many and delivers the DEMONIZED, and charges them not to tell.
In Mark 5:43, the Lord Jesus calls a DEAD young girl of 12 back to life, and tells the people there not to tell about it.
We read in Mark 7:24, "And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid."
In Mark 7:36, the Lord Jesus delivers a man suffering from DEAFNESS and SPEECH IMPEDIMENT and instructs him to keep it secret. It reads, "And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it."
In Mark 8:26, Jesus Christ heals a BLIND man and tells him not to tell.
In Mark 8:30, His disciples caught a REVELATION of His identity, and He tells them to keep it to themselves.
In Mark 9:9, Jesus reveals His GLORY to three of His disciples. It was such a great sight that even Moses and Elijah were present. But He told three of them to keep quiet until the right time.
Finally in Mark 9:30, we read, "And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it."
Mark is known for this kind of reporting. All these miracles are visibly and tangibly pronounced. They are miracles that could not be hidden. People would notice them even without a word.
I pray you experience God in visible and tangible ways. Let it become obvious to people around you that God is working in your life. People are tired of our noise. They want to see change in you for themselves. What God is doing in your life should be obvious to everyone. Don't just say it; show it. I pray God to give you a miracle that is capable of announcing itself - not the kind of miracle that if you don't say it, no one will know it. Receive miraculous healing, miraculous deliverance, miraculous provisions, and miraculous change of attitude and lifestyle. Let the doings of the Lord in your life be marvelous in the eyes of those who come into contact with you. You are God's work - a wonder to behold! Amen.
